Humble ISD: Coach quits after sex with student allegations

Nov.. 14, 2012: A high school tennis coach resigns from his job after allegations are made that he had an inappropriate relationship with a student, school district officials say. Ryan Korsgard reports.

HUMBLE, Texas -

A high school tennis coach resigned from his job after allegations were made that he had an inappropriate relationship with a student, school district officials said.

The Humble Independent School District said the allegations were made against now former Atascocita High School tennis coach Taylor McClain.

School district officials said it is investigating a claim that McClain had a sexual relationship with a female student.

"Taylor McClain is no longer employed by Humble ISD," a statement from the school district read. "He submitted his resignation after the district began investigating allegations."

McClain had been at the school since August 2010. In addition to coaching tennis, he was an English teacher.

Some students said they were shocked by the allegations.

The school district said it has informed the State Board for Educator Certification about its investigation.

McClain has not been charged with a crime.
