Nov. 5, 2012: A 13-year-old girl says a strangers fondled her when she was leaving her apartment complex on her way to school. Keith Garvin reports.

HOUSTON -

Police are looking for a man who they say fondled a 13-year-old girl on her way to school in southeast Houston.

The incident happened in an apartment complex in the 2700 block of Broadway.

Investigators said the girl was on her way to school when a man in a dark gray car pulled up. Police said the man driving the car jumped out with his genitals exposed, grabbed the girl and rubbed against her.

"He was like, come here. We're going to do fun stuff," said the girl, who didn't want to be identified.

She said she'd just left her apartment and walked through the parking lot when the attack happened.

The girl's mother usually walks her daughter to school, but said she didn't do it on this morning because she was sick.

"She blames herself because she knows she could've stopped that," said the girl.

The girl fought back, pushing the man, then running back to her home. Officials said the man then ran back to his car and sped away.

The complex has security cameras and the family is hoping they caught a glimpse of the man and his car.

"She wants him to pay for what he did. To go to jail," said the girl.

The victim said her mother is worried about her and will be looking for that car every time they go outside.

"I don't think I deserve this, and I don't think anyone else does," said the girl.

The family said they've seen the suspect's car before, but not the man himself. They've told police they think he may know someone else who lives in the complex.

Investigators said they don't have a description of the man yet, but if you know anything about this crime call Houston Police.
