HPD: Halloween-masked robbers hold up bank

Oct. 15, 2012: Two men wearing Halloween masks and gloves take over a bank during a robbery, police say. Gary Striewski reports.

HOUSTON -

Two men wearing Halloween masks robbed a southwest Houston bank on Monday.

Houston police said the men, at least one who was armed with a pistol, held up the Prosperity Bank at 4925 San Felipe in the Galleria area about 11:30 a.m.

The FBI described it as a takeover-style robbery.

Investigators said in addition to the masks, the men wore white gloves.

The amount of money the men got away with has not been disclosed.

Both men were described as black, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 8 inches with medium builds. They were both wearing dark-colored clothing and "Scream" Halloween masks, detectives said.

The robbers got away in a red minivan.

No injuries were reported.
