Nov. 15, 2012: University of Houston officials find nothing suspicious after someone called in a report of a gunman on campus. Courtney Gilmore reports.

University of Houston officials evacuated a building after someone said they spotted a shooter on campus Wednesday night.

At 10:10 p.m., the University of Houston Police Department received a report of an armed suspect in the University of Houston Recreation and Wellness Center.

Hundreds of people were evacuated from the building and the campus was asked to shelter-in-place.

"There were basketball games going on and the next thing you know, everybody is running out," UH student Michael Young said.

"We were playing volleyball with our team, and all of a sudden, they told us to evacuate the building. We didn't know what was going on. Police came in with shotguns and told us to evacuate," student Chioma Phillips said.

The all clear was given at 10:46 p.m. The building was found to be "clear of any sign of danger."

"We were all kind of confused. We heard it was a prank," Phillips said.

Officials are looking for the person who called in the report, believed to be a hoax.
