HOUSTON -

A graphic Halloween display on a west Houston homeowner's lawn is drawing criticism from people in the area.

Neighbors said the display at a home in the 14800 block of Kimberley Lane goes too far. Several neighbors have complained about the blood-stained mannequins, hanging dolls, chainsaws and body parts lying in the lawn.

"My kids find them a little bit out there and a little bit strange," said Neil Shulman, who lives nearby.

The family told Local 2 they're just trying to make the celebration interesting and fun, and the decorations draw large crowds each Halloween.

"We get hundreds of kids on Halloween here. And most of them spend 15 to 20 minutes here taking pictures with their families," said Shannon Latil, who lives at the home.

Other neighbors said they don't have a problem with the display.

"I think they're okay. I think it makes the neighborhood different. It's the most, the biggest decoration for the neighborhood," said Jose Antunez, who lives nearby.

"We're just having fun with it. We're not trying to be offensive with anyone," said Latil.

Officials said the homeowner isn't violating any deed restrictions with the display.
