HOUSTON -

Are you looking for something free to do this weekend? Here are few things you may want to consider.

This weekend, Houston-area YMCA locations are holding a community open house and inviting everyone to work off those holiday treats without a joining fee, a $100 savings.

Check with you local Y for schedules of open house events, including free exercise classes, polar bear plunges and swimming lesson giveaways.

Downtown there will be a free ice carving competition at Discovery Green Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Seven acclaimed ice artists will use chainsaws and chisels to transform blocks of ice into works of art at the free Magnificent 7 Ice Carving Competition presented by Neuro.

This is the first 2013 free weekend for Bank of America's Museums on Us program.

Bank of America cardholders can get free admission to the Houston Zoo, Children's Museum of Houston and the Museum of Fine Arts.

If you're hungry after doing all those things, Kroger has a free pizza offer on the store website under digital coupons. You can get a free DiGiorno Pizza when you buy two. It's also an inexpensive way to feed a crowd watching the Texans or Aggies this weekend.
