Deputies: Pot growing operations busted in Montgomery County
Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputies busted two separate marijuana grow operations in Kingwood.
Monday night, the owner of a storage facility contacted a Precinct 4 deputy constable and reported a strong odor of marijuana at his facility. An officer arrived at the scene and corroborated the odor.
The deputy requested a narcotics dog and identified two units as the source of the odor. Deputies obtained a search warrant and executed the search just after 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Once inside the units, deputies said they found two separate grow operations. One was found in a homemade plywood box; the second was located on a 16-foot lowboy trailer. Deputies said they found lights, an air conditioning system, and an elaborate watering system inside the trailer, which deputies completely dismantled and removed.
Deputies seized close to 100 pot plants.
Investigators are currently trying to find the man who rented the units. His name has not been released.
