HOUSTON -

A man is in the hospital after he was shot during a robbery at a local business, according to authorities.

Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Department said two men robbed four employees at an independently owned car lot on Veterans Memorial at Bammel North Houston. After the robbery, investigators said the men ran to the parking lot of a nearby restaurant where a get-away car was waiting.

“One of the employees that was robbed came over here to confront them and that's when one of the suspects shot him,” said Sgt. David Morrison.

Investigators said that man was shot in the groin and taken to Ben Taub Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, authorities said. Both robbers got away.
