Sept. 24, 2012: About a dozen illegal immigrants are in custody after they are found in a pickup truck during a traffic stop, investigators say. Phillip Mena reports.

About a dozen suspected illegal immigrants were taken into custody during a traffic stop on Monday.

Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said a suspicious pickup truck with several people in the truck bed was spotted on F.M. 2919 near U.S. 59. Officials said an 18-wheeler driver gave them a tip about the vehicle.

Deputies followed the pickup truck and Sugar Land police stopped it at the intersection of U.S. 59 and Beltway 8.

Investigators said 11 suspected illegal immigrants were in the pickup truck. Nine of them are men and two are women, officials said.

At least 15 other suspected illegal immigrants ran and have not been found, deputies said.

The driver was also detained, officials said.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were called out the scene to investigate.
