SPRING, Texas -

A Spring man known for his body building is accused of causing the death of a teenage girl after he took a drug popular with body builders.

Alexander Scott Wray, 26, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the Memorial Day auto-pedestrian accident that killed 14-year-old Ana Sanchez.

The teen was walking next to a friend, who was on a bicycle, when Wrey hit both of them. The incident happened on Louetta near Kuykendahl in northwest Harris County.

According to court documents, other drivers noticed that Wray was driving erratically before the incident and called 911.

After deputies arrived, Wray told them that he was looking at his cellphone prior to the wreck.

However, a deputy said he noticed that Wray's head was dropping and tilted, his eyes were wide open and he was sweating profusely.

Wray, according to court documents, provided a voluntary blood sample and tested positive for GHB, Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid, a drug commonly ingested by body builders. GHB is also known as a date rape drug and has been used to treat conditions like insomnia, clinical depression improve athletic performance.

"He's charged with manslaughter based on the driving facts. As far as the drug, he's not charged with intoxication manslaughter so I can't talk about that," said Britni Cooper, Harris County Assistant District Attorney.

The victim attended a local middle school.  Cooper describes her family as devastated.

"They're letting the system run its course, but they will be involved (in the criminal case) every step of the way," said Cooper.

Wray is scheduled to appear in court again on Nov. 29. He is out of jail on a $10,000 bond.
