Nov. 6, 2012: A former Houston Texans player is taking on a key role on Election Day by helping voters get to the polls. Gary Striewski reports.

HOUSTON -

A former Houston Texans player helped voters get to the polls to cast their ballot on Election Day.

Chester Pitts and a few of his former teammates, Moran Norris and Travis Johnson, organized transportation for those who needed it.

"It would have been a lot of difficulty because of my leg," voter Geraline Celestine said. "They helped me very well."

Pitts said he just wanted to support people because he was given so much support on the field.

"It's real simple. How many times did momma tell you to do the right thing? That's why we're here today," Pitts said.
