A car shot through a home at the intersection of Strong Creek and Creek Mountain in northwest Harris County Friday night, authorities say.
A Honda went through the garage door and came out the brick wall on the side of the house. The homeowner was inside but was not hurt.
"The house shook. Major. Sounded like a big explosion. Big boom. And all of a sudden the power went out," said Jack Windham, homeowner. "It's just unreal, you know? You hear about these type of accidents. But you don't think of them happening to you and then you look up and somebody drove through your house."
Firefighters said the driver stopped at a stop sign up the street. They said they believe a medical emergency caused the driver to lose control.
"There is nothing illegal that happened and there is no suspicion that he was under the influence of anything be it drugs or alcohol," said Lt. Matt Cline of the Cy Fair Volunteer Fire Department.
The driver was taken to the hospital. Witnesses said he was conscious when he was put into the ambulance.
