HOUSTON -

It's the picture everyone is talking about -- Former President George H.W. Bush dined at Gigi's Asian Bistro in the Galleria.

It's one of his favorite Houston restaurants. The photo was taken Saturday night and was posted on Instagram.

Customers were not at all surprised when we told them Gigi's is a Bush family favorite.

"If it's good for the Bushes, it's good for us," said Herman Ruiz, a Gigi's customer.

The 88-year-old former president could be seen smiling in the picture as he poses with Mark Sullivan and Jason Reeves. Sullivan does public relations for the restaurant.

This may be our first look at the president since his release from Methodist Hospital last month, but a Bush family spokesman said this wasn't his first outing.

Bush was admitted to Methodist Hospital in late November and spent several weeks there as doctors treated him for a lingering cough and a stubborn fever.

Former First Lady Laura Bush said at a speaking engagement Monday that her father-in-law continues to make strides in his recovery.

"In fact, we got the word that he has already been out to dinner in Houston, so I think he's in good shape," Laura Bush said.

It's a Bush family tradition to dine at Gigi's on Christmas Day, so this Christmas had had the food delivered to the hospital.

"Gigi's is a great restaurant -- great food, great tradition. You've got Gigi and her parents. It's no wonder she's got quite a following," said Laura Van Ness, a Gigi's diner.
