June 12, 2012: A short police chase ends with a wanted burglary suspect in handcuffs. Amy Davis reports.

HOUSTON -

A short police chase in north Houston ended with two men behind bars.

Houston police said they got a tip that a burglary suspect was staying at a motel off of Interstate 45 and Gulf Bank on Tuesday.

Datrick Williams was charged with felony burglary last June, but never caught.

When Officer Orus Baldwin saw Williams pull out of the motel parking lot in a white SUV with another man, he followed them. He tried to pull them over in the 1500 block of West Gulf Bank, but Williams didn't stop, investigators said.

Detectives said Williams drove into a nearby subdivision, where both men bailed from the SUV and jumped a fence to an apartment complex.

Police caught Williams. The man he was with got away.

In the chaos, another man in the complex took off running when he saw police headed in his direction. He had no outstanding warrants, but he was charged with evading arrest. His name has not been released.
