Nov. 7, 2012: A man's body is found in a bin at a northwest Houston recycling center, police say. Phil Archer reports.

A man's body was found in a bin at a northwest Houston recycling center.

Houston police said the body was discovered by a sorting crew at the Waste Management facility on Clay Road near Campbell Road shortly after 2 p.m.

Investigators said the body was in a commercial recycling bin that was picked up in the Texas Medical Center area.

Detectives said they suspect the man, who is believed to be homeless, likely crawled into the bin Tuesday night or Wednesday morning to keep warm. Police said they suspect the man was crushed by machinery in the recycling process.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will determine the exact cause of the man's death.

Police said the man had a Minnesota driver's license. His name has not been released.
