Feb. 26, 2013: Four people are arrested after a shooting and chase that stemmed from a drug deal, investigators say, but the alleged victim has a different story of that happened. Mark Boyle reports.

SUGAR LAND, Texas -

Four people were arrested after a shooting and chase that stemmed from a drug deal, investigators said, but the alleged victim has a different story of that happened.

Sugar Land police Cole Lukens told them that the group robbed him at gunpoint on Cypress Ridge Lane and Ellicot Way in the Sweetwater area around 11:30 p.m. on Monday.

Lukens told KPRC Local 2 that he was attacked when he was on his way to see a woman he met online.

"I met her one time before, actually, and (she) just called me and asked if I wanted to go out to IHOP. I said yeah and I was going to pick her up at the corner," Lukens said. "I pulled up and her other friends jumped out of the bush."

Lukens said he was ambushed.

"I saw him come up with a gun, so I took off," he said.

Investigators said a shot was fired and it went through Lukens' car, grazing him in the back. Lukens then called police.

Officers later spotted the group's car, which had been reported stolen, police said. The group led officers on nearly 25-mile chase that ended with a crash in the Beasley area, police said.

The four suspects were arrested. They were identified as Grayson VanRheen, 20, Sarah Moehle, 18, Jasmine Claxton, 23, and Jessey Eaton, 27. They have all been charged with aggravated assault.

Detectives said they determined that Lukens' story wasn't true.

"Something was going on last night that was not what was initially reported," police spokesman Doug Adolph said. "Turned out to be a drug transaction involving cocaine. Somebody wasn't happy, a shot was fired and a man was injured."

Lukens suffered a non-life-threatening wound, police said. He has not been charged in connection with the case.
