Deputies need help solving two convenience store burglaries that appear to have been committed by the same people.
Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said the stores were broken into on Dec. 31.
About 2:10 a.m., investigators were called out to Pleak Corner on F.M. 2218 near Highway 6 in Pleak, Texas.
The owner of the store told them that two masked men used crowbars to pry open a metal shutter and then the front door. The burglars stole a money container from an ATM at the store, investigators said.
The thieves were wearing gray or black clothing, including baggy athletic shorts, officials said.
Detectives said about 2:45 a.m., a store on Crabb River Road in the Richmond area was targeted. The burglars got into the store by prying the front door open with crowbars, investigators said.
The thieves ran to the back of the ATM and stole about $80 in change, some perfume and cigarillos from the store, deputies said.
The two burglars in that break-in wore black long-sleeved T-shirts, baggy gray and/or black athletic shorts, black Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers and black ski masks.
