HOUSTON -

Two men shot each other outside a northeast Houston convenience store Wednesday night, police said.

Neighbors reported hearing about seven shots outside the S&S Mini Mart in the 3400 block of Sarah near Greg in the French Town neighborhood shortly after 8 p.m.

It is unclear what sparked the fight. Each man was taken to separate hospitals. Their conditions and identities were not released.

When ambulances arrived, one of the men was hiding underneath a house. The other was found about 200 yards away in a driveway.

Police said the men are considered both suspects and victims.

Earlier, police said they were searching for a third man who may have been involved in the altercation. Officers later said they were no longer looking for him.
