2 parts of Sam Houston Tollway to close this weekend

Feb. 22, 2013: Construction could affect your plans this weekend.  There will be two major closures on the Harris County Tollway System. Jennifer Reyna reports.

HOUSTON -

Construction could affect your plans this weekend.  There will be two closures on the Harris County Tollway System.

All lanes of the West Sam Houston Tollway will be shut down from Clay Street to the Northwest Freeway starting at 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.  The closure will allow crews to put up new sign structures and replace sign panels and pavement markings.

The tolls will be waived at the Clay exit.  As a detour, northbound traffic will exit Clay and re-enter after Philippine.  Southbound traffic can exit West Road or the US-290 direct connectors.

All lanes of the West Sam Houston Tollway will be closed at the West Airport and South Main ramps beginning at midnight on Saturday until noon on Sunday.  The shutdown will allow crews to remove some overhead signs.

As a detour, eastbound traffic will exit West Airport and re-enter at South Gessner westbound.  Traffic will exit South Gessner and re-enter at West Airport.
