June 24, 2012: Two people, including a 15-year old boy, drown after a boat accident on a private lake. Irika Sargent reports.

LIVINGSTON, Texas -

Two people, including a 15-year old boy, drowned after a boat accident on a private lake.

On Sunday afternoon, officials said a group on a retreat at the Campamento Bethel on Red Road just off U.S. 59 in San Jacinto County went out on the lake in two canoes.

At some point, officials said one of the canoes capsized. Two of the three people in the canoe were able to swim to shore, but officials said the 15-year old boy couldn't.

Investigators said a 21-year old man in the second canoe jumped into the water to try and save the boy, but both drowned.

Officials said all the canoes were equipped with life jackets, but they were removed and left back on shore.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.
