A teenager has been arrested and two other people are wanted in connection with at least three vehicle burglaries in the Cinco Ranch area.
Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said they were called out to a home on Blanchard Grove Drive about 12:55 a.m. Wednesday. The homeowner told investigators that he saw two men wearing dark-colored clothing walking down the street and possibly entering a car down the block.
A deputy later stopped a vehicle at the intersection of White Fry and Westheimer Lakes. That deputy searched the car and found a golf bag that contained business cards belonging to a Katy-area resident. Deputies said they got in touch with that resident, who told them that the golf clubs belonged to him.
The driver of the car, 19-year-old Austin Thompson, was arrested and charged with theft, burglary of a motor vehicle, possessing a false driver's license, use of an unlawful instrument and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Fort Bend County Jail and had a court appearance scheduled for Thursday.
Investigators said they have not found the two men the homeowner called them about. Descriptions of those men have not been released.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
