Festivals, fairs, movies and celebrating Mother Earth are just some of the things you can do this weekend without breaking the bank!
We've got all the details from our friends at Houston on the Cheap in this week's Freebie Friday report.
The Boy Scouts of America is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a free scouting fair. It's happening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Reliant Arena. The event features live entertainment, free birthday cake and Blue Bell ice cream. Admission is free, but parking does cost $10.
Celebrate the Far East this weekend at the Japan Festival. Stop by Hermann Park on Saturday or Sunday for Japanese dance and opera performances, a fashion show and children's activities.
Commemorate Earth Day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Discovery Green. Fifty different groups that promote green living will be on hand. Enjoy live music, food trucks and visit the Saint Arnold Beer Garden.
And you have your choice of three different spots to enjoy a free movie under the moon this weekend:
Ikea's Screen on the Green features the movie "Wall-E." Bring your blankets to Discovery Green on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
Sugar Land Town Square is featuring "Ratatouille" on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
And at Tomball's Second Saturday at the Depot, "Hop" will be playing on the big screen, once the sun goes down.
