Thousands lined up outside Minute Maid Park ahead of Friday evening's concert featuring Beyonce and her husband, Jay-Z.
Leave it to Houston's own Beyonce to squeeze a little excitement out of the juice box.
"It's Houston. It's Beyonce. Why wouldn't we be excited about that?" said Ashley McDonald.
"I just want to see her and Jay-Z, the collaboration. Like the connection," said Jessica Gunn.
Many at the concert said they've supported Beyonce from the start.
"I've seen her at when she first came out with Destiny's Child at the Woodlands Pavilion," said Shantelle Woods. "It was like a free show with the original members so I'm sure it'll be a lot different."
Seeing Beyonce in concert is much different these days -- no more free shows now. The cheapest ticket at the box office Friday night was $400, and parking was about $80.
Still, die-hard fans went to great lengths to catch a glimpse of Mr. and Mrs. Carter.
"We just bought tickets, flight, all of that yesterday to come here today with no plan," said Lashonda Robinson, who came from Florida.
Some had a plan, but...
"The tickets were for my son's birthday," said Terry Gaines. "He needs to get here or I'm going to go in without him."
