Courtney Gilmore joined KPRC Local 2 in October of 2008, and has worked as a morning show field reporter for the past two years. Occasionally, you can see her filling in on the anchor desk. If there is breaking news in Houston, Courtney is there. She has covered everything from wildfires and hurricanes, to political elections.

Her latest endeavors include investigative pieces on human trafficking in Houston. Courtney's most memorable work includes her stories on the largest domestic sex trafficking ring in Houston. She spoke to survivors and told their stories of how heartache and bondage turned into hope and triumph.

"My platform allows me to give a voice to the voiceless," Courtney said. "I was amazed by tier strength and resilience, and I knew their story should be told."

Courtney is proud to be a true Houstonian -- born and bred in the Bayou City. She graduated from Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She trained with the Guthrie Theatre Acting Program at the University of Minnesota, where she also received her BFA degree in Classical Theatre in 2005.

Before graduating from the University of Minnesota, she performed and trained around the world from Shanghai and Beijing, China, to London, England," Gilmore said.

Her proudest professional moment came when she got the chance to sit down and interview Sidney Potier.

"The world is a classroom, and I am forever learning," Courtney said.

Courtney went back to school, to earn her masters degree at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Courtney is a huge theatre buff and loves the arts. She spends some of her free time in Houston going to museums, volunteering and mentoring teenage girls, running, enjoying the outdoors and extreme sports, and cheering for her favorite team... the Houston Texans!
